Cannon kept all that was good in the PowerShot A70, including the 3x optical zoom, easy to use automatic and manual controls and great image quality. The larger LCD screen, better autofocus, many ergonomic improvements makes PoweShot A75 the best digital camera for any situation.

Though a bit larger (at 11 ounces) than other 3.2 mega pixels camera, it fits very well in your hand and all the controls are easy to access. The power button (top-mounted) is easy to find but you can’t press it by mistake. The controls include a slide to switch between recording and viewing and a knurled mode dial. When pressed upward, the double duty cursor adjusts flash options and when pressed downward activates the manual focusing (macro mode). When using the manual mode, the right and left arrows control the aperture and shutter-speed settings.

The camera has a traditional Menu button which provides access to the following features, such as: sound, red-eye reduction, digital zoom, formatting the CompactFlash card. Another button accesses the functions that are used while shooting.

The camera can capture pictures at resolutions of: Postcard (1600×1200), a special 3:2 ratio, 2048×1536, 1600×1200, 1024×768 and 640×480 and it can snap 11 full resolution pictures at 2frame/second clip. You can close focus to 2 inches at wide-angle setting and 10 inches in telephoto mode. The shutter speed varies from 15 seconds to 1/2,000 seconds and the aperture from f/2 to f/8. Canon PowerShot A75 offers many exposure modes including Program, Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority Landscape, Slow Shutter, Night Scene, Fast Shutter (sports) and Stitch Assist (panorama) and six scene modes for taking pictures of foliage, beach scenes , snow , fireworks, indoor and underwater settings.

If you like to shoot movies, you can capture up to 30 seconds of video at 640 x 480 pixel, with sound. The camera offers the possibility to make prints and index sheets of still images (DPOF and PictBridge compatible).
